Our History

New Life Community Church is affiliated with the oldest Protestant denomination in the United States with a continuous ministry. Our denomination is known as the Reformed Church of America. Our first church in America started in the hayloft of an old Dutch mill in 1628 on the tip of Manhattan Island. It continues today as the Marble Collegiate Church on Fifth Avenue in New Your City.

The Reformed Church takes its name from the great Protestant Reformation of the 16thCentury when the church became “Reformed according to the Word of God.” The heritage of New Life Community Church is found in the Reformation with roots in the Netherlands.

We are a community church which includes people from many different denominational backgrounds. We have been a part of the Artesia/Cerritos community for over 75 years. Our present buildings were built 1972.

We are democratic in government, typically Protestant in worship, broad enough to make room for anyone, yet narrow enough to maintain the distinctiveness of the Christian Faith.
