Care Ministry
Freely you have received, freely give.
- Matthew 10:8
The Care Ministry of New Life Community Church exists to demonstrate in very practical ways the love of Jesus Christ for people in need.
It doesn’t take much to have your life change drastically from one day to the next: an accident, illness, major surgery, death of a loved one, or loss of a job. Suddenly, you need help. Where do you turn? Sometimes, changes sneak up on you, and one day you discover that you are no longer able to do the things you used to do. Who do you call?
On a short-term and as-needed basis, Care Ministry volunteers assist those who are shut-in, temporarily disabled, hospitalized, recovering at home, grieving, or facing a life crisis. Help and support may take the form of visitation, prayer, transportation, meal preparation, running errands, relieving the caregiver, or sending notes of encouragement. Both those who receive care and those who volunteer care are blessed through this ministry of CARING BY SERVING!
Opportunities to Receive Care
If you need temporary help or support from a Care Ministry volunteer, please contact the Care Ministry. Someone will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
Opportunities to Serve and Care
Consider being a Care Ministry volunteer! Because new care needs always arise, it takes many people to keep this ministry active. In addition, the Care Ministry seeks to not overload those who freely offer their services.
One of the most exciting things about the Care Ministry is that you can often serve from your own home in many ways. Moreover, few special skills are needed, although orientation and training are provided where necessary. A willing heart and availability are the most important thing.
Please pray about how you might be able to participate in this ministry of CARING BY SERVING. If you can volunteer, whether it be much or little, your heart and spirit will be blessed!
What Do I Do Next?
If you would like to receive care or to volunteer to provide care for someone else, let us know! Contact the Care Ministry (being certain to indicate the areas in which you would like to either receive or offer help) in one of these ways:
- Complete the on-line form and return it to the church office. (Submit 2 separate forms if you would like to indicate both receiving and offering help.)
- Call the church office at (562) 924-4466.
**Because the Care Ministry depends on the availability of volunteers, there may be times when some areas of support will have to be prioritized.
