Boldness of Your Story

Lead Pastor Juno Smalley continues our series through the book of Acts – this time looking at how we can become more bold with our Christian faith.

Scripture: Acts 4:13-31 & 5:42

Running from God

Pastor Mark introduces the book of Jonah as we start a new sermon series called, “Running from God.” As we make our way through the story of Jonah, we are to look in the mirror and ask ourselves, “Are we running from God just like Jonah?”

Scripture: Jonah 1:1-3

The Goodness of God

We live in a world where temptation and trial abound. There are constant calls to abandon faithfulness to Jesus. Therefore we cannot passively follow Him.

Our anchor in this world is the absolute goodness of God. This truth never changes or fades. We know in all circumstances that our God is a good God.

Scripture: James 1:13-18

Beatitudes #5,6,7,8

These verses show us how our faith, while personal, must lead us to interact with others. Being merciful, pure in hear, a peace maker may ultimately lead us to be persecuted. We remember the 21 Coptic Christian’s persecuted and we are reminded that persecution was not just the the times when Jesus walked on the world. Although in our country we may not be put to death we are also persecuted as we start to live out A New Way to be Human.

Scripture:  Matthew 5: 1-12

What is Good Neighboring?

Jesus delegated to 70 (or 72 depends on what you read) others to go ‘to the cities’ to give peace, fellowship, heal and give the gospel. Jesus had a heart for the city! Are we hiding behind the reality we are not one of the 70? A good way to train our heart to be open to others, is to connect with them. As we love others, we will love the city.
Scripture: Luke 10:1-11, Jeremiah 29:7

Ingredients for Life

The writer of Philippians, Paul, shares words thanksgiving that comes from his mind, heart and prayers. We are also reminded that in questionable and heart breaking circumstances that God still moves and can give us joy. We will look at Paul’s Chains, Critics and Crisis and how God moved. We focus on the chains we all have in life and will be reminded that God loosens those chains.

Scripture: Philippians 1:3-26
